Why do you teach spin?

I decided to teach indoor cycling after years of taking classes and having completely fallen in love with the ride and results that came along with it — both mentally and physically. I wanted to inspire others to reach their goals. I wanted, and still strive to, lead riders through killer workouts with pumping music and effective choreography and drills.

What is your favorite music to teach to?

Really anything! I love to mix it up. I want you to have the feeling never knowing what I’m going to play next!

What is your favorite spin class “move”?

Any combo of moves that makes you mildly hate me and love me all at the same time is my favorite. When you are smiling at me and cussing under your breath, I know it’s working.

Why do you teach spin?

I teach to be a part of a team. To inspire and be inspired! And without fail I’m inspired every time I teach. Whether it be to a full class or a class of one!

What is your favorite music to teach to?

My favorite music to teach to is mostly remixes of whatever! As long as the beat is strong, I’m into it. Britney Spears is my favorite by far!

What is your favorite spin class “move”?

My favorite move is just jumps! Why??? Because jumps give everyone a chance to incorporate stability, speed and strength!

Why do you teach spin?

I teach spin because it allows people of all ages and fitness levels to feel incredibly bad ass about themselves. Everyone feels like they just conquered the world after a spin class! To facilitate that feeling through instruction is an amazing opportunity. It is also a type of exercise that isn’t just for the incredibly fit – anyone can do it and I love that Vortex Cycle Studio encourages inclusion and a program that makes people of varying fitness abilities to feel welcome.

What is your favorite music to teach to?

I love teaching to music that encourages and motivates people to push themselves beyond what they think they can do. Songs with a strong beat and inspirational words are great. I don’t have a favorite genre, but I would say I lean more towards dance mixes or hip hop.

What is your favorite spin class “move”?

My favorite move is tap backs and my favorite drill is a tabata. I also love a good, long hill!

Why do you teach spin?

I teach a variety of fitness modalities and I love them all for different reasons. Spin is just plain fun. I love the energy in the spin room. I love watching people push themselves.

What is your favorite music to teach to?

I like all types of music. I tend to go through phases, right now I’m on an old school hip hop, remixes phase. Next week may be EDM and the week after may be something else. As long as it has a good beat I’ll play it.

What is your favorite spin class “move”?

I don’t really have a favorite move per se. I love climbing hills – long hard hills, in the saddle where you have to grind it out.

Why do you teach spin?

I teach spin because I love making people feel good.  My goal is to make people leave class feeling transformed and proud of what they just accomplished…an awesome, music pumping, calorie burning, full -body work-out!

What is your favorite music to teach to?

I love mash-ups and remixes.  It’s fun watching my students recognize a song they love, mixed and mashed with other songs.  It makes for an awesome variety of genres and beats.

What is your favorite spin class “move”?

All of them!  The Vortex ride is designed to have a variety of sprints, jumps, climbs, tap backs…and each are fun to teach.  I love seeing the “ah ha” moment when people take themselves to the next level of resistance, speed and fitness level.
